i thought we have been using rats in lab experiments for years, what is the difference?
Great USA allows torture....Just as bad as Iran etc

I liked your ambush interview and though I don't agree with everything you post, I'm curious how you feel about the bill in question. I'm not talking about how suspected terrorists should be interrogated. I'm more curious about your feelings on how openly the bill can classify someone as a terrorist and how little recourse such a person has to any defense.Originally posted by 12clickswhat a clueless statement.Your post count means nothing.Comment

I turned the papers upside down, seems the US economy is stronger than ever, the national reserves is building up like crazy, schools & hospital care get more and more fundings than ever too.
I fucked up with the popularity polls too, seems US is more popular than because of its searches for oil..... erhm world peace!
Just one more little war and we are there, mayby 2, but we will see after the next one
Ofcourse I agree in full with the US goverment that it is okay to break the human rights in your fight of world peace and to get others to follow the human rights too

Repeat with me the ends does not justify the means.Originally posted by elronIt only matter how important is to suck the information from the suspect . and it might sound harsh , but imagine this situation : a terror group threats amsterdam with nuclear attack unless they all convert to some other religion , and you have a suspect that might tell you the location of the bomb. Would you then turture him in order to save the lives of your million fellow residents in the netherlands or not ?
I gave such extreme example not because i think it may happen one day , but to demostrate you that sometime in life you dont really have a simple choice , and sometimes you have to negociate your own values in order to survive .
In U.S matter i think it's not justified to treat suspects this way while waving the 'war on terror' flag , unless the situation might save many other lives , so then again - there is no simple answer for that .Comment

I love the way people are just slowly giving up their rights to this corrupt gov.
First mining telephone records, then listening to phone calls without a warrant, now torturing terror "suspects".
This is just like the McCarthy era all over again. Replace commy with terrorist and you got it.
Everyone just be afraid, and let us take care of it all. Remember the saying, "the only thing to fear is fear itself." You all have your mouths open for the next spoon full of shit, except they are telling you it's pudding and you believe it.Comment

Ya definitely suspicious if they are found fighting against the US army with machine guns and hand held rocket launchers. I would call that enough to warrant some type of interogating if they have more information. Anyways, I've read most of your posts, you're nothing but a sheep.Originally posted by justsexxxLol lol, and what if you torture them, but they are NOT terrorists....They are SUSPECTS...That means it's not proven yet they ARE terrorists...
If they would keep me awke for days, undercool me etc...Maybe I would say I was Bin Laden, just to et some sleep....
THAT IS THE problem....Comment

The US economy is doing great, didnt the DOW just hit an all time high, I dont know about the rest of you but my portfolio is the best its been in damn near 15 years.
What are you talking about schools and hospitals???
I take it your not from here because if you were, you would know our hospitals arent run by our government, they are private businesses and we want to keep them that way.
As for our schools, yes its shame they are failing our youth and as much as it pains me to say. The Repubs keep trying push a system which is very similar to the system that is used in The Netherlands (vouchers) but too many forces are fighting them. This subject, US schools could be a whole other thread.
What is this popularity poll you speak of? If you mean what other countries think of us, I kindly say FUCK YOU. I vote for US leaders who do what is right for the US, not what makes us "popular" with foreign countries.
As for human rights, quick question-
Last time I checked the Taliban/Al Queda isnt a signee of the Geneva Convention, so how is it a violation if both parties involved arent even members?
This purely from a legal standpoint not a moral one
Also if you look at past conflicts we the US have been involved in
WW2- our pows were tortured
Korea- our pows were tortured
Vietnam - our pows were tortured
Iraq 1- our pows were tortured
Current conflict - our pows were tortured
So how is this Geneva convention agreement helping us?Comment

First off, the economy isn't just the dow. In case you haven't noticed there have been a few layoffs going on lately. Lets see, GM, Ford, Intel just to name a few. The housing market has gone into the shitter and our deficit is at an all time high, plus we are spending 2 BILLION a week in Iraq. Yep the economy is rocking!
As for the schools, the no child left behind bs has just made schools teach to just pass the stupid tests. All it's doing is turning out more dumb southern mullet wearing Walmart shopping republicans.
As for your idiotic ideas about torture. They cut off heads in the muslim world, so by your logic we should too.
This country is supposed to stand for what is good and right. We used to set the examples i.e. Koyoto treaty. Now we just stand for a bunch of pompous ass holes that don't give a fuck about anything except for their corporate buddies.Comment

Kyoto treaty. pfft. If we would of signed it would you of whined about Bush losing more jobs to overseas companies? Do you even know why we didnt sign it?
Why are we losing out in the car market lately? Ill let you figure that one out on your own.
Also where do you think those billions we spend on war equipment primarily go? Again Ill let you figure that out on your own.Comment

As for Kyoto, this is just one example of where we should be in the lead and setting the example. Keep your head in the sand, cuz your kids will be the one dealing with it.
I see you didn't have a response to the Intel layoff. Look across the board, and there are layoffs in about every industry except for CEO's.
Those billions of OUR tax dollars are going into shithole companies like Haliburton with connections to the white house.Comment
