all this fear.. trust me, nothing's going to change.

Imagine this: guy from US wants to gamble, he hits up Francois in Paris who is able to receive cc payments. Francois deposits the money in party poker, and connects his account with some offshare banking account and sends him ATM card.

The funny thing is, the guy in the US won't even notice Francois doing all this for him.

And ofcourse Francois is not really a one man operation.. but something like a "front end" for a hidden and unknown Neteller, maybe even owned by the poker company... - the options are unlimited.

I wonder why all the board Republicans stay out of threads like this.

Exactly. See The Adam Walsh Bill and 4472 where the adult industry got the shaft by slipping in unrealated shit.

You have to assume that there will be legal challenges to it. I can't imagine the big online poker companies just sitting back and letting this happen without a fight. They will lose a huge amount of business.

I've always said that the governments job it to protect me from criminals and invaders from other countries, not from myself. If I want to gamble away all of my savings from the comfort of my own home instead of in vegas or reno or places like that it should be my business.
