They are very cannibalistic if you don't feed them. Now imagine several HUNDRED baby pirhanas all in a tank haha. It is vastly amusing. Actually, my breeders (who were the size of large dinner plates) got hungry one day and one ate the other from the bottom fin and most of the tail off and allt he way back.. I thought for sure he was a goner. Get him go a few weeks though, fed them well and he actually grew most of it back. He was a LITTLE deformed, but they bred just fine so I guess he was okay. Amazing thing about fish, they can grow shit back, they regenerate nerve tissue. Pirhanas are amazing fish.. I love watching them feed.

                                                                                                                                  I used to enjoy when people borrowed money or other things from me, I'd get collateral and put it in a plastic bag in with Bert and Ernie (their names). I feed mine mostly smelts, real cheap and 100% aquarium parisite free. Its also very easy to inject smelts with vitamin suplements.

They are highly intelligent creatures, which is why they and the rats are so often used in lab experiments.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      A friend of mine in elementary school asked if he could start raising mice too, so I gave him a couple of mine. I later found out he actually owned a pet snake and the mice I gave him were for a juicy meal.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      So I just think throwing a live mouse into a fish tank and watching it struggle for its life like that is creepy. As is throwing them into snake cages. But to each his own. I recognize a lot of folks don't have a problem with it and think its funny to watch critters suffer. Go figure we live in a sick world.
