Only real issue with this one so far has been assorted relative feedback/flack about my choice to look into a dual amputation.

I know the feeling...every time I thought I was gonna die, it seemed that life had decided to force me to stay to the bitter end so I could be punished! lol
On the dual amputation...I would say that the flack your getting about it is just normal. When I first read that previously in this thread, my natural reaction was: "NO!!!!!"
It's hard for us people who have use of our limbs to imagine NOT having them. So it's hard for me to wrap my mind around it. But you know what's best for you. And after I sat here and gave it some thought I realized that "yes" it would probably be much easier on you to have them out of your way.
Damn that sounded strange...but I suppose it's true.
The only worry I would have for you is that something can always go wrong in any surgery. And that is a damn major one for sure. So give it lots of thought first (though I know you already have)
