This is the saddest day in football history. When I woke up to watch my morning Sports Center, and Hanna Storm butcher sports, and I just see "John Madden Retires" I sunk into my couch, helpless and confused. I even cried.
A part of every football fan dies today. And if all you know about John Madden are Frank Caliendo and his telestrator antics, you have been missing out BIG TIME. John Madden knows more about football than this entire board knows about porn. His 10 years as a Raiders head coach (youngest head coach, and youngest coach to get to 100 wins) seem like a distant memory after 30 years of broadcasting across all four major networks, and 16 Emmy Awards.
