    phatserver or isprime?

    thinking about new hosting, cause im really getting sick of dealing with people wasting my time, first my programmer takes me for months and gives up and now my host that ive been with for 5 years been setting me a server up for over a month now.

    who do you recommend and why?

    after searching gfy, alot of ppl recommended phatservers, isprime as well but alot more expensive.

                      All of my friends use it, basically, there is only 1 other host I can recommend and that's www.swiftco.com


                      Both are excellent, I am with www.swiftwill.com and I can say Dweeks, Mike, Tristan, and Dan have NEVER let me down and go the extra mile for the customer. Need a server? I would have it up by noon ;)

                                                  Danny, I always give you good advice and you take the opposite. So for once, listen to me and go with isprime. I have first hand experience with how great they are.

                                                  I am sure phatservers is great as well, but I have first hand experience with isprime and they are amazing.

                                                      Phatservers hands down. They had me up a dedicated box in less than 24 hours. I love their 24 hour support also. I love them!

                                                          since isprime is expensive.. and phatservers is still offering a free months, i got nothing to lose to try them out for a month, if im not happy, ill pay that extra and go with isprime.. i msged like 3 guys from there on icq.. none answered me.. so there lost.. like i said.. im sick of waiting.

                                                          and ppl stop icqing me.. im already sold

                                                                  Fuck, I love the way these threads become pissing matches and self promotion for whatever host is being spammed.

                                                                  The question was which is better phatserver or isprime.

                                                                  I can't say much about isprime, but passed on phatserver. If all you need is the best service, phatserver is the answer. If you need horsepower, there are better offers out there.

                                                                  Phatserver seems steep in price for hardware and what you get, but I guess you pay for their exceptional service. Do a search and you'll see for yourself.

                                                                          ive never had problems with swiftwill, they are great.. been with them for many many years, but my partners in crime are sick of waiting and business is business, we can't keep playing the waiting game.

                                                                          its almost like the girlfriend that you get sick of but you just cant let her go..

                                                                              Phatservers and ISPrime are both solid companies. As to which is better, I couldn't say. Lots of large companies host, happily, with both of them. At least the guy isn't comparing apples and oranges!!

                                                                                      We moved from Isprime because the BW overage charge was getting too high, they also over charged for hardware. Had a few problems with the programming of the site but they fixed it and they have ICQ. But the biggest problem was with our BW burn leaping they would not give us a flexible rate.

                                                                                      I personally think for what Isprime charge they do not deliver, I will post what they charged us for chips and mother boards, it will surprise you.

                                                                                      Moved to Phatservers, the move was handled by them, we were up and running in a few days, got 2 terabyte of HD. They tell us they improved the rate as BW burn increases.

                                                                                      Only have email contact with them which is bit of a bummer, but no big problems so far and what is needed is fixed quickly.

                                                                                              Swiftwill, Phatservers, Swiftco

                                                                                              swiftwill :: solid host, was getting good uptime & good communication.
                                                                                              won't provide root passwords to anyone even under threat. i swear we tried everything.

                                                                                              phatservers :: very accomodating, emergency-response time has always been great. Very good communication.

                                                                                              swiftco :: reliable host, stable speeds & good communication. host has good knowledge of adult + accomodating as well.

                                                                                              things to consider:
                                                                                              -physical location `may` be an issue
                                                                                              -on any case, sticking to their OS of choice is a major plus.
                                                                                              -a remote reboot strip may come in handy sometimes LOL

                                                                                              thus, to stick to the original thread question, phatserver is a reliable choice.

                                                                                                  I got a box at phatservers, and another at nationalnet. Both are top notch. Phatservers is cheaper, but they take 20 minutes to do support instead of 5 at national. If you're not running paysites and affiliate shit... Phatservers is more then enough for you.

                                                                                                              i've been using ISPrime for a a couple of years. in terms of downtime they are excellent (basically none). tech support is 24/7 and really helpful. sometimes the tech guys make a mistake with my change requests but have always fixed it quickly. i'm paying $499 for a 10mbit capped server + $20 a month for daily auto backups. as noted above this is for a fully managed server. i know nothing about server management so this is great for me. for a fully managed server with 24/7 tech support, i doubt you could do it for $100 or $200 at most cheaper.
