Is prostitution illegal because of wingnuts or feminists?

wingnuts seem to be opposed to sex for fun, whereas feminists realize if men had the option to pay, women would lose their only power over men, the ability to withhold sex, and it would drive down what women could get from men. Any other theories?

How about the men that would otherwise approve of it are forced to come off as wingnuts for fear of their significant others withholding from them if their cause fails?

Most things victimless crimes are illegal due to the Victorian's and temperance protestants and their 'morality'.

A lot of the modern legal thinking that covers prostitution arose in the 1800s before the rise of antibiotics. The justification then was to prevent the spread of disease which was a thinly veiled excuse against the real reason--legislating morality. Prostitution was viewed as a threat to marriage.

It's one of those things that just shocks me that people even allow a govt. to do these kinds of things.

I haven't figured out yet what the hell the govt. is doing telling people that they can't fuck for money. I love history, and one of our greatest founding fathers Benjamin Franklin LOVED his hookers.

I personally don't feel it's the govt.'s place to tell people what they can and can't do. I'm a grown man, not a child. If I feel like paying for pussy, the govt. shouldn't be making up some bullshit law saying I can't. Not to mention spending time and money setting up "stings" to try and coerce people into breaking the "law".

You shouldn't be a criminal until you actually do something that IS wrong. Like stealing, or raping, or killing. Having the govt. tell you what you can and can't do to have sex is fucking insane.

Claudia-Marie is stripping at a couple of clubs here in Vegas...and you guys would not believe the bullshit that the govt. does right here in what is supposedly "Sin City"

For instance, if a girl asks a guy to buy her a drink? It's considered "solicitation". If a girl says: "Hey, after work I'm going to go to Pure nightclub...meet me there and let's party" It's considered "solicitation".

In other words...It's against the LAW to say WORDS. Fucking unbelievable. Shit like that has to be unconstitutional. But we'll never know because defending whores isn't ever gonna be a popular thing to do politically.

If a girl fucks a guy for money, it's prostitution and illegal.

If a girl fucks a guy for money + video camera + papers = LEGAL

There is a loophole somewhere you can exploit to make prostitution legal. If you opened a studio where "Johns" came in to fuck girls on "camera" to be a on website all day long (but you never actually put it on a website), would that still be illegal? Wouldn't that just be a porn studio?

Prostitution is "illegal" because of wives... End of story...

And prostitution isn't necessarily illegal.. i.e in Canada, it's not illegal, just living of the "avails" of it are. I suspect that was put in place more to deal with pimps then the actual whores. But of course it stops nothing...

is illegal because is not regulated and goverment doesn't get a cut on the transaction. It has nothing to do with morals.

On the other hand, perhaps hookers could get by if instead they fuck for donations... and establish a minimum donation of X amount of dollars (their regular fee). Hell, they could even give symbolic receipts for the donations.

It's not regulated because it's illegal. If it were legal, the government would tax it just like any other business.
