Bizwise we sponsor a girl in the Phillipines, we help her family (directly) but the girl more with books etc, to help her to get a decent life socially and financially stable, personally I donate to several organisations too. Once a while I give money to ppl on the streets, - straatkrantjes - aka streetnewspapers we call them they sell, they have to buy them for 50 cents, so they cant convert all cash to booz, its at least a way I know theyre trying.Last edited by DutchTeenCash; 09-25-2006, 02:09 PM.

I only give money to the bums who share their crack.
For music promotion I sometimes give homeless people stickers to put up and give them $10 when they're done. I've heard of people giving them promotional t-shirts and stuff too that they of course wear all day long. AHhh the sweet smell of exploitation.Comment

Yes I do when I have it.
Most of the time I am not carrying currency. I do just about everything with business, or personal credit cards so the MOST I would have on me is like $20 ever.
I flip them the cash, and feel good about it the rest of the day. I do not waste my time hypothisizing on what they do, or do not, may, or may not spend it on. I just know in some way shape or form I made their day brighter.

I would never give money directly to a homeless person. I feel a lot of them choose to live like that and I work hard for my money and do not feel comfortable giving it away to someone that won't do anything to help themselves. I like the honesty some of them have when they tell you the money is for liquor or smokes but it makes me not want to give it to them even more. Plus... living in a large city for a few years I heard all of their pitches and lies and up my mind.Comment

I normally don't give money but I have bought food many times and given it away. I had an ex girlfriend who would always take our "doggy bag" food and give it away the second we walked out of a restaurant. We would always order more food than we could eat just so she would have a doggy bag to give away, lol.
I remember one time recently there was a homeless guy panhandling in front of a Taco Bell. I felt sorry for the guy and bought an extra meal just for him. So when I was leaving I try to hand him the food bag and drink. He takes the food but waves the drink away and says "I only drink Alcohol", lol.Comment
