If you install acrobat, you can convert word document and other things to pdfs

OpenOffice has an "export to PDF' feature that is very nice.

Adobe Acrobat can do that as well as secure the PDF file for you. Not Abobe Acrobat reader, but the full version.

i dont know what you need it for but i use this sometimes to join individual pdfs, i also use photoshop
