No the Crow DOES NOT make more than 10k, especially after losing to Rich Franklin. Renato Sobral made $21,000.00 for his CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHT with Chuck Liddell, and after tonights abysmal fight by the Crow, he's gone from the UFC.

You can't lie about pay, UFC has to post their payroll of fighters. So your guy who you can't say his name, who no one has heard of making waves, makes me think otherwise of making 40k a fightwhen the MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION DOESN'T.

They all earn dog shit! The UFC is taking a majority of the pie and you've just proved it by posting the fighters salaries. These fighters are being raped financially. Take into consideration the gate, the ppv buys, all the advertisers, the tv deals, the merchandise etc. etc.. That's big money and if a top guy that is heavily marketed like Rich Franklin is only earning $40k he is being screwed. I don't care about their endorsement deals that has nothing to do with the UFC paying its fighters. The top fighters should be getting a percentage of the draw plus a hefty guaranteed salary just for showing up. They market their entire company around these guys, how are they not entitled to an equal share of the pie?

As for the damage you must be kidding me. These guys are at risk for all kinds of things, there isn't any guarantee when these guys fight. They can suffer all kinds of broken bones and various injuries.

You martial arts guys crack me up. You practice martial arts so you are an expert in the field, give me a break. No one gives a shit. Its pretty easy to see who's getting rich and who isnt.

Do you always talk out of your ass? The UFC was going bankrupt when Zuffa took it over. I remember reading that they only recently got out of the hole.

When did you see me at anytime say the fighters should get paid less? Stop being an idiot, throwing up strawman arguments to bolster your earlier dumbass post.

Idiot know it all crack me up. They think just because they can post they are an expert about everything, give me a break. No one gives a shit.

Yeah the UFC payscale is smaller because they really had the US market cornered for the most part, but their salaries are starting to rise with the oncoming competition for fighters and the growth of MMA. Overall the UFC still pays low and your friend would have to consider the options.

If he really is getting an offer for 40K per fight in the UFC that's a pretty decent offer unless he feels he can make big moves in Pride. The Pride people will cut your pay if you don't win, the UFC will pretty much do the same unless you get a contract. Pride fighters also face money deductions in the ring and generally tougher more technical competition.

So depends on what he's got, let his skills do the talking or go for a few fights or certain paydays.

The UFC just let Yves Edward out of his contract, he's lost his last two fights, and the word is he wanted more money.

For instance, I dont' think the Crow will make it back to the UFC after losing his last two fights.

yep and they've made it harder on the in between fighters at the same time in the ufc. ufc won't give you any kind of money at all virtually since they were the main show as far as the us market goes, and alot of that is due to the tv show the ultimate fighter. they get fan name recognition on a shitty fighter and pay him money and it helps to generate the name buzz and fan name association that they need.

the base ufc fan is not an mma fan, he's just a spike tv toughman wrestling type fan who wants to see blood and thats it. he needs a name from tv and unskilled brawlers to entertain him. that's why when pride gets here next month they change the game by bringing a better quality show here and making ufc step up with money or lose out.

I can't wait till PRIDE FC makes it to the US. Right now the IFC has been making some inroads with the fighters. They get a Salary, and also Health Care/Insurance.

It's time now for fighters like Matt Hughes, Rich Franklin, Liddell, and so many to make the money they deserve.

But, let's face it, it took how long for Boxing to pay their fighters what they are worth? A LONG TIME.

MMA is young, 13 years old, and it's bypassed boxing in PPV, now they need to take care of their fighters, and the only way that's going to happen is if there are more MMA orgs in the USA and abroad.

i love mma don't get me wrong a big time boxing event is still 10 times better to me. it's just the drama, the history, the sweet science and a full 12 rounds of a championship fight. you just can't beat it for me. now that's not any boxing ppv, that's just a few real big matchups that happen a few times a year.

I know exactly what you mean. Especially with the new TUF fans who think they know what they are talking about because they watched it on Spike TV.

Now everyone is a cage fighter, and knows what these guys go through in training, and in their lives to get to the big show.

Do you train in MMA or any of it's diciplines, BJJ, Wrestling, Muay Thai, etc?

A crazy analogy for me: Before I started playing golf, I hated watching it on TV. When I took it up, I would spend hours watching it.

Same way I feel about MMA. Tonight I was screaming to my boy about how one fighter took down another one with an old school Gracie Jiu Jitsu take down, and him answering yeah, I haven't seen that shit in years.

I like watching the big boxing fights, but I'd take MMA over it any day.

I don't know the history of the UFC but quite frankly I don't see the relevance either. We aren't talking about 5 years ago or whenever that was, we're talking about today. This really isn't about the UFC and their financial problems of the past. They clearly aren't having and earning problems now, so why even bring it up? I said the fighters earn dog shit and you made a smart remark. Then you posted their salaries to further justify my point. And you're still shooting off at the mouth! What I don't understand is why you even commented at all about these guys making shitty money. You clearly agree with me, so what's the problem?

                                  You said:

Its terrible imo. These guys take tremendous damage and it just isn't worth it for that amount of money. Plus if you look at the total earnings of these events you will see that the fighters are getting screwed big time.

Out of that 40k he still has to pay his corner, manager, and trainers. I'm sure they all take a percentage. Even the top fighters earn dog shit in the UFC. These guys should form a lockout and refuse to fight so they can negotiate a larger percentage for themselves.
                                  I answered:

A clear strawman argument. You have yet to answer my questions:

What damage are you referring too?

What top fighters earn dog shit?

But you don't need too anymore, it's quite obvious you have no idea how to read, let alone know what you are talking about when it comes to MMA.

15 years ago, the league minimum was 175K per year for Major League Baseball. I am sure it is probably quite a bit higher today and just as high for other sports.

                                    you make smart people cry.

You got everything backwards. I was calling him uninformed for claiming that they make AS LITTLE as $160k. Read a little more carefully next time, okay? I'll await your apology.
