Did start with a freehost (Kinghost), but that only lasted two weeks. Moved on as fast as I could to a hosting company.

ahh, i've been thru them both, web1000 was actually pretty decent, geocities was too quick on the trigger to delete pages

Web1000 would redirect all non-US traffic. They also would tell you that you could upload certain video files, then pages containing those files would eventually redirect. I had an AVS site there ages ago that built up a decent traffic stream and for some reason the page to sign up for the AVS would redirect. They have different owners now, but I noticed that they currently redirect pages that haven't been updated in a certain amount of time.

BTW, I had "revived" the old page I had at Web1000 a few months ago by updating it... I just tried to go to it and it redirected to hothomepages.com
