Same thing happened to me a couple years ago. I actually heard this noise emitting from my mouse. I was completely baffled. I had no idea why my mouse was making noises. I quickly put it all together after I turned my mouse over and opened the battery compartment only to see battery acid leaking out of one of the rechargeable batteries.
