    Is 2 GB pathetic?

    I'm moving from freehosts to paid hosts. I get about 10,000 page views per day total on a few different pages. Will 2GB be enough do you think?

    Throw me a fucking bone and answer!!

      well lets start by saying this throw us a fucking bone. hell how are we suppose to know. for all we know you have is couple of bandwidth chewing movies on there or some heavy graphic pages. or a slim-line text only pages.

      kinda of hard to give an answer when you have nothing to go on.

          Ok - I was just being lazy. Let's say 1 TGP page with mostly text links, maybe 6 banners or so. Then lets say 10 gallery pages with the usual 10-20 pics and 2 banners each.

          Will I be fucked with 2GB at a total of about 10,000 uniques per month? 20,000?

              My gallery pages usually consist of 20 pics at 3 kb each. Each large pic is between 30 and 50 kb each. I use two banners, and two text links. That is my gallery page. I am getting 50K unique a day on my galleries, and using on average between 2-3 gig a day.

                  Only us a pay for what use host on a monthly contract. I started with 8 gigs and endup with thousands of dollar of over usage changes. also check the overbandwidth charges, some isp charge as much as $10 a gig.

                  good luck, this move will either make or break you, because more tgp's will accept you galleries on a pay host the bill is going up. I promise.

                      Thanks for the stats. Sounds like 2GB per month would only buy me about....2000 uniques a day on a standard gallery. That sucks! Fuck, this could cost some real money!

                          2gb a month is not very much at all. Dont make the mistake I did when I first started.

                          I went for a hosting company that allowed a small amount of bandwidth...it was cheap, and I had no idea what I was doing (not that I do now either) As a couple months went by...my traffic increased. I was forced to switch servers because of the larger amount of bandwidth being used.

                          During that switch, I lost almost all of my traffic, I had to start over again and re establish all my trades. What a pain it was.

                          I would go with a hosting company that gives you the option of starting with a small package. You can simply upgrade your hosting package as you grow.

                          One of my sites is hosted with Autson. They have done well for me. I really like their prices and customer support.

                              The more I look - 2 GB looks pathetic, and I need a company that will be around for a while, that will allow me to upgrade on the fly, and not totally FUCK me for extra bandwidth.

                                      all things go smooth,

                                      the important thing is he's real nice guy and
                                      willing to help ya asap, he spend alot of time on icq to ask u wether u need help abt
                                      host or not

                                      and if i have problem i just kick him on icq
                                      and he'll fix up my problem in minutes =)
