        What "stuff" is Chavez doing?

        Chavez is the President of Venezuela - not Mexico. Last time I looked Venezuela was in South America and has no borders with the US and Venezuelan people don't normally make the effort to cross any borders or send any money to Mexico whether this is tax free or otherwise

        Sure Bush is an asshole (or appears to be), but at least Chavez has gas at 12 cents/gallon, provides 70% of the population with universal healthcare and food to approx 12 million people in need and still provides cheap fuel to folks in the US who are in need. Never noticed Bush come close to that - even during an emergency scenario (Katrina).

                                                        Agree mardigras. And doubt it is the case with Chavez, but now that he has some attention, if he did start being a shade more diplomatic, he might even be effective.

                                                            I was sitting in a Barcelona hotel watching CNN during that Chavez speech and I found it interesting that they emphasized mostly that he called Bush "the devil" and they seemed so surprised and shocked about that speech.

                                                            Chavez was right in many parts of his speech, because if you ask the people on the streets around the world about Bush or the US politics, many will agree with Chavez point of view.

                                                            Now I'm not saying it is the right point of view, but there are really MANY people thinking like Chavez said.....
