I was young, I was excited, I was stupid. I was working as a back-end (insert joke and dildo here) net-eng for CNCX, which was most recently XO (ASN 2828, amongst others, SplitInfinity).

A middle manager for a company that rhymes with "Its you, Peachy!" somehow got transfered through to my department, which only handled T1, ATM, OC3 and higher connections. How, I have no idea.

The guy begins by verbally abusing me, which is always a great way to start a conversation. Nothing like being called a Cocksucker without so much as a "Hello".. then again, I am on GFY, so I got used to it, I guess.

I asked how I might assist him in my department. He started yelling and screaming that I was keeping him from getting his work done. When I finally managed to get Captain Combover to explain his issues, he stated that he made DNS changes in his office and made sure it was seen by the internet, but we, who had a T1 to them, were not routing it.

I looked it up. Sure as shit, 'officedroid.ca.whatever.itsyoupeachy.com' was 192.168.0.22.

I explained that this was known as a private network, and there would be no routes placed to it.

Queue a few more minutes of abuse and personal threats. Californians love to threaten to sue; I think it's how they denote the end of a sentence.

Anyhow, I manage to get his fax number, and his email address. So, I faxed him RFC1918, and sent it to his email.

Oddly enough, he never called back.

I can see it becomes a problem though, if the vids are like 1GB and not able to preview.

I read that and came to the conclusion that it was probably a good story but I didnt have a fucking clue what it was on about. I then re-read it and noticed the caveat at the start.

I get stuff like that too. I've got a woman who keeps calling and e-mailing me with the same questions wondering where her order is from last month (August). She hasn't been a member since June, hasn't ordered anything since June and keeps asking where here free movies are.

I've called her twice and sent 2 e-mails to her.

The only thing free with our service is the shipping. It amazes me, everyday, how people read/see only what they want to read/see and tune out everything else no matter how many times and different ways it's explained to them.
