Back in the day the 'old skool' players used to lie cheat steal from one another, make backroom deals that were half fullfilled on one end, trade bad traffic just to see if they'd get caught, piss on one another in boards and chat, and then all sit back with oneanother at the end of the day and celebrate the money they all earned (behind the curtains), and for the money they lost to one another - well it was part of 'the game' they chose to play.
Then affiliates came into the picture, small and big time, part time and full time, indy paysite exit links and large scale tgp traffic investments on the part of individual webmasters...and this it where it really get's personal. Back in the day, no matter what - at the end of the day everyone drinks and everyone eats. Now it's so dog eat dog we are fighting for every penny earned, and there's no more room to 'play games' with profits.
The industry is much more corporate than ever before. You don't see sucessful programs like PussyCash and SexSearch involved in drama like this...a personal degree. FriendFinder is making bank and doesn't seem to really need 'us' anymore. The biz is what you make of it. Program owner, or webmaster.
And just as affiliates have to choose sponsors carefully, and ride the high revenue tides as long as they can, stability will play out as the big picture comes to show that programs must be just as careful in screening affiliates, in order to survive and keep the tides flowing.Comment
