One year molars = no fun

My granddaughter (the G-baby for short) will be one year old the end of this month. All the sudden she has all four of her one year molars coming in at once.

It's not been a fun day and I'm sure it's just beginning.

Teething tablets were the best thing modern science ever came up with.

Yikies. Our little one is just 9 months old and her first few front teeth started coming in this past week.

Needless to say, there's not much sleeping getting done here.

          Spend you some brain.

She has like 8 or 9 teeth already. The first couple were trying for everyone, but then things kinda settled down. It's been almost 22 years since I had a baby to deal with on any level.

She just wouldn't settle down last night and we were going through all the possibilities. She didn't want to eat anything warm. Wouldn't even take a warm bottle of anything. Noticed she was kinda working her mouth alot and I wondered if she had a sore throat. Mom finally looked in her mouth (not an easy task) and both the lower sides of her mouth and one upper where the molars are coming in were puffy and very white. Went immediately for the motrin and then something cold and it at least got her a few hours sleep.

Gonna run down the street later and get her some of the teething water mentioned.

One thing that helped my son when he was teething was those mesh fresh food feeders. We would put small apple slices in them and let him chew and suck on it.

Didn't even think molars came in until age 2 or so --- ours is 13 months and still only has a handful of teeth. We're going to look for that teething water though - thanks for the heads up on it

I guess literally are first bicuspids (one year pre-molars), second bicuspids (two year pre-molars), first molars (age six), second molars (age twelve), and wisdom teeth (anywhere from 16 years to 15 years).

When we started reading up I kept hearing them referred to as 1 year molars, 2 year molars, etc.

now i know why you're up hun. here it is: dont buy that gerber teething cookie crap. it melts into a mushy mess. get the teething toast. cant remember the maker. but it is mini biscotti and doesnt melt to a mushy mess. it is like good tasting hard toast and they love the hell out of it. grinds that tissue away to expose the new tooth and doesn't leave a mess. if they don't sell it anymore, get an fn biscotti from starbucks and let the babe have at it. just monitor so there is no choking in case a hunk comes off. life saver. i swear it doll.

we got the teething water today.. along with a couple of the mesh teether things. froze pineapple in one and apple in the other.

Hopefully she'll sleep better tonight. She looks like she feels worse than I do.. and I've had 3 hours sleep since I got up Wednesday morning.

Ah, OK....guess I need to do a little more reading. All I remember is that the "molars" were a while down the road, and that allegedly the pain/discomfort was much less after the first couple of teeth came in. I guess it's less, but I wouldn't go with "a lot less " lol...I'm just glad she won't remember how miserable she was
