Voting machines are just another case of people wanting to bring in new technology when there is nothing wrong with the old technology. Florida in 2000 was caused by a poorly planned punch card, stupid people who didn't read directions, and stupid beuracrats who excluded people when they were eligible to vote.
Amazing that the ENTIRE issue can be put to rest forever with a simple paper receipt. Why not just do that?
Diebold makes ATMs... it's not like they don't have the capability.
What's even more outrageous is that areas that were perfectly happy with their existing voting systems were forced to change to the machines or lose federal funding.
