No better than any other site with the same links or traffic. Not worth wasting time or effort trying to get listed there.

I have had, and still do, get sites listed there. However, I never submitted them. Which makes me laugh.

Back in the day, I would submit, and would not get in. Now I do not even try, and get in.

I have one mainstream site listed there after years of submitting it. It also got listed on wikipedia, but they have a "no follow" tag in there so it doesn't do much.

Notice i said same links as well. Its more about backlinks, domain age, blah blah blah. I know what your saying but DMOZ is not nearly as important as it was in 01. Things have changed and there are tons of sites that are just as if not better to be linked with. But you are correct that they are a nice link to have, just not worth worrying about if you have your own network.

There are only two ways to get listed. Either bribe an editor or become an editor.

Getting mainstream sites listed is 100 times easier then adult. I have had several sites accepted in the last 18 months or so.

My 12 yr old's site he built for school also was accepted and listed there.

Build a quality site, offer something of substance to the directory surfer, give information that isnt available in the directory allready, and last but not least, DO NOT monetize the site until after you have applied and got accepted, and then, do it very much on the 'down low'.

People say its impossible after spamming dmoz editors with freesites, blogs, and tgp galleries that hold absolutely no value or uniqueness to the surfer, of course you aren't getting listed.
