there are actually prohormone supplements that can conceivably cause false positives for steroids, I tend to believe him actually because at that level most of the athletes know their stuff and are good at and able to avoid testing positive while still using the real thing, but they might get fucked by something unexpected like a supplement

Actually sesame, sunflower, oats, unrefined oils made from sunflower etc all can show false positives according to some people. Have yet to find any scientific studies to show such results. I do know that eating assorted hemp products can cause a false positive though.
As for the poppy seeds and opiates, they have raised the level a great deal so you would need to consume several tablespoons of them.
