Not that things like facts and reality matter to you....but Stewart's point overall was that the financial news media should have been a watchdog, should have been our first line of defense against some of the shady shit that was going on....and instead they were nothing but cheerleaders and mouthpieces for CEOs.
His intent was never to single out Cramer, but then Cramer fired back, and then they got into a back and forth.
The whole purpose of the press, and the reason their freedom is guaranteed in the constitution, is that they expose corruption and speak the truth to power.
The financial media failed miserably in this current crisis the way the mainstream media failed miserably in the run up to the Iraq war.
