I am usually only in the box for a couple of months but one time it lasted about 9 months.

how do you know it is a "sandbox" per se, and might not be just a penalization which can last forever?

because i am still high in the serps for the less competitive keywords, plus my site still has PR. Ive read that sites who are penalized arent listed for any keywords/phrases and have a PR of 0 or a grey bar.

btw yesterday ive read some more about the sandbox effect... The more competitive the keyword is that you are sandboxed for, the longer it takes to get out.
i.e. if your sandboxed for "amputee fucks midget" it takes 2 to 3 months tops. But if it's for example "porn" it takes 6 months OR MORE!
