how about you switch those 2 xeon processors with 2 quad core processors
then its like having 8 cpu's. You can't beat that with multiple servers cost wise..
But there's more then just RAM and CPU how about disk activity and maybe network card load..
There's many things to take in account before to make the right choice for one kick ass server or multiple slower ones..
