I don't like much Cradle of Filth too.I don't think Cradle of Filth is black metal.
Cradle of Filth is extreme gothic metal..

My favourite black metal band is Catamenia and Bathory.

I used to listen to Venom, but now I notice the production quality on some of their old albums is so terrible that it is almost unlistenable on a decent quality sound system. Didn't notice it back when all I had was shitty cassette decks. Would be nice if they remastered them or something.

I always prefered death metal. I like a bit of black metal type vocals thrown in some death metal songs, Brutal Truth comes to mind. But all black metal vocals sounds a bit silly.
