The thing is if this guy goes to a psych hospital, gets good with his meds and is deemed "safe" who is going to babysit this guy for the rest of his life to make sure he stays "safe"
I had a neighbor who was severely schizophrenic (which I did not know when I first moved in). After her and her boyfriend broke up she went off her meds and started doing all sorts of crazy shit. Long story short, ended up arrested, and I had to testify to have her put back in the psych hospital. Found out some of her history and learned 3 times before had gone off her meds and in one instance stabbed her own brother and in another threw herself in front of a car. She was fine on her meds but obviously had times when she decided on her own that she didnt need them and thats when she got crazy and violent.
So if they "cure" this guy and let him out in society where is the guarentee that he will never have another episode? The guy is sick but it is criminally negligent IMHO to allow someone like that out on the streets again.
