'Tube' in the UK and Eire at least has been used as a slang term for the TV for decades.
A guy called Paul Raymond, in the mid to late 80's, played with the idea of expanding onto TV with a late night slot for his adult business
The name going to be used for the show was...wait for it... Sex Tube, to follow the format of an already running, ground-breaking music show with a similar name - The Tube
