    adult hosts vs. mainstream hosts

    Why in gods name are Adult hosting companies so much more expensive than mainstream, just compare to like godaddy.com

    for 4 bucks/month i have 500 gigs of space, 250 gigs bandwidth, 10 mysql databases, it goes on and on.

    and to get that for an adult domain, it seems to cost 10-20x that much.

    Whats the dealio?

      It's much harder to run an adult site 90% of the time since reular sites get almost no traffic most of the time.

      But not all hosts are more, some are just really cheap because they provide a low grade connection to your visitors.

          As i can see, the uptime for adult hosted sites is MUCH better than for most mainstream sites. And in the adult business, everything seems to work much faster like customer services, setting up new servers...
          And all of this costs money.

                      mainstream hosts usually stay away from porn...maybe because of legal aspects...In Europe it's pretty hard to find an adult host.

                              Ok out of work I host both adult and mainstream at the same price. With the same amount of bandwidth. Why? because i'm not trying to screw anyone for hosting regardless of what it is for.
