            I loved the movie. Luckily, I got to see it before too much of the hype hit...

            I liked what Danny Boyle did with the subtitles too. instead of the typical white or yellow words at the bottom, they were all over the screen in colored boxes covering "empty" parts of the frame

              As somebody that watches a lot of world cinema I loved that. I can't tell you the number of times I have been fighting to make out yellow subtitles on a white background during an outdoor scene. I was hoping that what he did would become norm. It was great.

                I'm not saying it wasnt a great movie. I just set my expectations too high after it won best film. I guess I was slightly bored and expected more. But its damn good

                    Went to see it today after the good reviews in this thread. I was expecting a lot more. It was a good movie but not the best of the year by any means. I too found myself bored at parts, looking at my watch to see when it would end. I think had the hype not been there or it had not won best picture, (a) I never would have seen it, even on DVD and (2) If I had seen it, I would have turned it off.
