The office space guys baffle me... Personally I didn't start my own business so that I could go to an office every day. Sure, working out of home takes discipline, but it's not that hard to manage yourself.
How many of you are bored with this webmaster lifestyle?

I don't think it's a discipline problem, but more of distractions. For me, I have my daughter, girlfriend, and random friends who think because I'm home, I'm not working. An actual office would end all that.Comment

6am - get up, get bottle for daughter, take her into the bed and spend time with her until wife takes her downstairs. go back to sleep.
11am - get up, see daughter and wife - go to work.
2pm - go to mailbox, post office, bank, store, etc.
3:30pm - go back to work.
5pm - spend time with daughter.
6pm - make dinner, help feed daughter.
6:45pm - spend time with daughter.
7:30pm - put daughter to bed.
8pm - spend time with wife.
11pm - go back to work.
3am - go to bed.
Ah, the webmaster life.

I wouldn't change anything, just that I would want to work over the daytime again and not in this shithole country.
My great friends need to wake up every day to a fucking corporation that's full of monkeys.Last edited by CarlosTheGaucho; 02-28-2009, 04:46 AM.Need hosting, cloud, CDN or solutions for your AI? so nico-t, do you work 12 hours per day now or back to 1-2?
anyway, the last year ive been very bored and it got really bad the last several months, almost hating it, along with just being extremely depressed.
Ive seen the light a few days ago, i noticed i stood still in life.
In terms of doing this work is that i only did whats absolutely necessary every day (1-2 hours) and do nothing the rest of the day. I didnt get any step further. So yesterday i worked nearly 12 hours total, gonna see how this works out. Today ive got the same state of mind although some friends with a day off visited me for a while, other than that ive kept working all day and its a satisfying feeling.. im gonna keep this up.
good postWhy did I come work for AFF?
50% because sales aren't what they used to be.
50% because I was bored and lost my motivation after working from home for 10 years.
I kind of went bored out of my mind being in the home office all the time. I wanted a change.
I still have my own 6 figure yearly traffic network that I can always go back to it anytime and it makes for a nice security blanket.
But for the time being I like the "structure" of having a "real job". Plus I'm paid extremely well and I like the people I work with. So for now I'm happy doing this.
I like that when I go to bed now, I'm actually tired and looking forward to sleep.

anyway, the thing is that after years of dealing with stats, clicks, conversions etc, it's not that easy to start running a restaurant, to name a random exaple
an offline biz not only requires usually a much bigger investment, it also means you need to learn things from scratch... the experience from online adult gets pretty useless thenLast edited by polish_aristocrat; 06-21-2009, 11:11 PM.I don't use ICQ anymore.Comment

It is boring and a bit tedious at times,
but it beats going to a 9-5, even though it takes more time.
I do get burned out every few months or so, when the work starts to take over your every thought.
It's fun using your imagination, but it definitely sucks doing all the small steps it takes to execute your ideas.
It's supposed to afford you more freedom, but it really doesn't.
You can only get too bored when your overly-wealthy or complacent, when your worrying about bills to pay it's a race to the finish line.10 years of experience in:
