However, as time went by it became increasingly apparent that the project really had no available budget, no real expertise other than what I could contribute, and no compensation would be forthcoming any time soon.

I wanted to make my mark with what was touted to me as a site that had a lot of potential to become big, and so I stuck around longer than I should have.
