How much bandwidth does it take to stream a flash video vs to download a decent quality AVI file? It's a good thing porn is usually a impulse buy. You get a boner and you aren't thinking about overage fees, or what the hell DRM is.
I guess it depends on what you're promoting though. The best no brain sales come from solo girl sites with brand new hot girls, or rare fetishes. When you get into DVD collections, pornstars that are everywhere, etc is when people start reading review sites, and start "shopping around".
