We sold Microsoft DRM solution for all most 6 years and last week the last customer to use DRM pulled out (of course we stop selling few years back but kept on supporting it).
The problem is Microsoft's fault in my view. The thing worked on 95% of the computers and the 5% who could not get it working were the vocal majority which basically led web masters not to promote sites that used DRM, review sites to give low marks to sites that used DRM, and things got bad went guys who were doing 'installs' were using DRM as a backdoor to get into users computers.
Right now Microsoft has a new DRM solution for Silverlight, they want 30K per server plus per lic issue fees. I doubt if any one will use it even though its a lot stable then the older version of DRM.
Also DRM has become a mute point since any one with half a brain can brake it. Their is no DRM system that is 100% fool proof.
