You should have called the cops right away, basically you were assaulted...and someone needs to be arrested. I would start to look for a good lawyer...and take him to court for some $$$$$$$ damages. You can sue someone for anything...and get a restraining order. If someone is has a violent behavior...they just might come back...and finish you off.
