wordpress tip: making theme development easier

This is geared at people that develop wordpress themes, convert regular designs over to wordpress template code, or if you want to setup a blog with a bunch of posts and elements but don't want to do it by hand, which is a real pain.

By using wordpress sample content, you can populate a wordpress blog with posts, pages, categories, images, tags, etc, everything you need to have to test out a theme.

You can import sample content by use of the import tool via xml file.

Andi Saleh has a .rar file with an xml file you can import that has the following

Quote:
Posts and Pages

9 Pages including 5 Sub Pages (the ?About? page renamed to avoid doubles)
14 Posts to ensure pagination
Short and long Post titles
Posts in single and multiple categories
Posts with and without tags
Password protected Post

HTML elements

Heading 1 to 6
Strong, emphasized, and striked through words
Hyperlinks
Images with captions (floated and inline), emoticons
Ordered and unordered lists two levels deep

Tables and definition lists
Big and small fonts

Comments
