Last week there was an "incident" 5 mins from here - some idiot was trying to rob someone on a bus.

The two officers first on the scene had the guy exit the bus - he was armed. He then shot both officers then casually walks up to the body of one who was lying face down on the road and puts three more bullets into him.

He then ran off and the other officer, tho badly injured, was chasing him. The law flooded the place with armed bodies and the robber gave up in the end - with a broken jaw and some ribs messed. The second officer who was giving chase, took two more bullets and died as a result of his injuries.

Fortunately this stuff is rare, but sad that two young guys trying to do a job got killed in the process - both were only 24 years of age.

My brother is a cop here. He has two kids aged 6 and 2 years old. He's already been slashed with a knife from some idiot 17 year old, and ws lucky it wasn't worse than it was.

Totally agree Scotty - anyone to deliberately attacks a cop needs an extra 10 years automatically tacked on to any sentence. (All scuffles and bullshit aside)

It's kinda hard to explain, but the cops here don't have any "attitude" - they are very friendly and would do anything to help - even with stuff that's not really their job. Everyone knows this - and that makes it even harder to understand why anyone would want to harm them - nevermind load another three bullets into a body.

Flip side is "danger street" - where law agencies have folks mixing at a high level with seriously dangerous people (tho they have no clue their "friends" are the law). Last .. or near the last incident was a friend in the field who got, think 72 rounds of automatic fire pumped into her car. Nearest round was embedded in the headrest... but she nabbed them in the end - drove off the highway into a shopping mall and round the back away from the public and was ready when they came chasing after her - shot one in the leg and the other dropped his weapon. Shit job - ya really got to like living on the edge

Dunno.. but doubt UK cops have that degree of violence on a regular basis - the most outrageous stuff I know of is in the US and that's prob slightly biased cos all I know are the "extremes" of the US from law folks there - so prob is not that bad on average.

We were chatting a while back over whatever was the last outrageous "incident" in the US and I mentioned cops in the UK would be shitting their pants and it would be all over the national press if that shit happened. They thought all cops lead the life they lead - strange idea They get used to it and it's a way of life.

Nothing wrong with a career in the justice system Scotty - plenty areas to work in there and pretty interesting
