    UK Ban on violent porn.

    A mother whose daughter died at the hands of a man obsessed with violent internet porn has won her fight for a ban on possessing such images.

    The government has announced plans to make the possession of violent porn punishable by three years in jail.

    It follows a campaign by Berkshire woman Liz Longhurst whose daughter Jane, a Brighton schoolteacher, was allegedly strangled by Graham Coutts.

    Mrs Longhurst's campaign was backed by MPs and a 50,000-signature petition.

                          i am trying to say that once again government has failed to understand the issue and has passed idiotic legislation.

                          this lady is just mad because her daughter was a freak, liked some kinky shit, and hooked up with a sicko.

                          it has nothing to do with porn, and everything to do with the person. i would like to read the specifics of that law, because from the article "violent porn" is a big ambigous for my taste.

                                              According to the BBC article: "...proposed legislation will outlaw possession of images such as material featuring violence that is, or appears to be, life-threatening or is likely to result in serious and disabling injury".

                                              The key word here is "such as". Will this law limit itself to addressing the depiction of "life-threatening" violence or will it also encompass good clean fun such as ass slapping and the like?
