I asked but they said this is how they do it here. I guess it doesn't make much difference. By the time the shitty mail system here would deliver it to them, it would be 8 days or more anyway...

Not sure about the PS3, but on the 360 they have the warranty seal and EB even puts a similar refurbished tag in the same spot.

Take it to any computer shop they will be able to fix it. I would rather pay than wait a month to get it back, it wont cost much anyway.

I buy up the broken ones, fix and resell 'em. Microsoft has their's and the different game shops do the same thing. Even the local mom and pop shop does the same thing. It's a smart move, as referenced by your suggestion.

There is probably someone local who's doing 360 and PS3 repairs. If you don't want to wait.

Yeah, in the 1 year though. Most people i know who have a 360 have had problems at some point. Of course not every machine will be like that, but certainly a good few...

When my PS3 stopped reading discs less than two months after I got it, I called Amazon up and they shipped one out to me immediately. Plus they sent a pre-paid return shipping label to me by email.

I received the brand new replacement in a few days and still hadn't even shipped the faulty one yet.

Well think of it this way, you 'll get more work done in those 21 days. I just shipped out my Xbox 360 on Tuesday due to the dreaded RROD, I won't see it back for 4 weeks. Guess I can get more done or even pick up these strange things everyone is talking about called a 'book'.

I actually stocked up on the HDDVD players when BestBuy was blowing them out for $20-40. I have the original one we paid out the ass for. One hooked up to my PC and three in the attic in case any of the break.

I've been hording the HDDVDs too. You can find them online for $5 if you know where to look. We've got a HUGE collection. I don't care if they don't make them anymore.
