I know that....my point is that the bible doesn't necessarily condone drinking at a bar on the holy day and if you're going to go against your religion, why bother praying at that particular meal?

The bible was wrote by mens. You can beleive in a bigger something without having to take everything word for word.

The reason there were some things in the bible was to control problems.

Like the no sleep with lots of woman = no stds n stuff like that.

People used to LISTEN and do what the bible said so it worked. It dosen't anymore. It dosen't mean there isn't something above us...

Not all churches are anti alcohol. Hell take the Catholics for example.
Drinking in of itself is not a sin. Nor would visiting a bar, pub, tavern, whatever.

Not to mention you said they had food brought to them so it does not seem as if the "bar" is just a drinking bar only. Now if you saw some person praying in bar around here before they gobbled a pickled pigs foot, or pickled egg, and they were not praying to not die for eating it then well it may be odd.

Lastly religion and hypocrisy go hand in hand anyways, so whats the point. Nothing a religious person does surprises me anymore.
