Awright... WHo wants to Represent My services?

Lets see...

I have been advised to find someone to work with me and promote my design services.

I would like someone that:

A: Is Patient
B: Does not think Creating Awesome designs can be done over night.
C: Believes good design should have appropriate pricing.
D: Has experience in the business or at least the contacts to get things moving.

I am willing to part with a portion of the money made. Percentage or flat rate on each project.

I am willing to shut my mouth on boards, give you the breathing room you need. Many tell me I got awesome skill and a good talent to create converting sites and its my self destructive mouth that loses me business ( Which probably true, but then again I have yet to find generous clients that supposedly reside on every corner of this industry that have the budget to afford what they can pay for )

I am willing to design an entire new site on your domain. No one will know its me doing the design if thats the way you want it.

I am open to any suggestions you might have.

I want to make money in this business but selling myself on the boards just does not work.

So throw down something and I will contact you if I think you got the skills to promote my services properly.

just a suggestion
you do the designs, and he handles all the contact/sales/support, with out anyone knowing that hes in bed with you.

a couple people said you do decent design, but your board melt downs scare potential clients here, and a lot of people read/post here who would want to use your service.

want to buy this spot for cheap? it is of course for sale. long term deals are always the best bet. brand0n/ at/ a o l dot commies.

Purely professional insight here.

You shouldn't have to part with any of the money. You should still make the same amount as you used to. Raise your prices to pay your lead generation personnel.

That way you don't see any money disappearing and you won't feel like you are giving up a part of "your" money.

If you have someone here for you, you don't have to be here where your mouth has sometimes gotten you in trouble, AND you will be able to accomplish that much more, and deliver products faster because GFY won't be holding you back.

I spend 1/10th of the time here that I used to. It shows in many areas.

I think you also would benefit more from focusing on what you do well, which is design shit. I've never seen you get into something that didn't end up being a full blown war with someone, and ultimately hurting the way people perceive you and their thoughts on your professionalism. I'm no one to talk, I just have picked my battles a little more carefully. Your board meltdowns scare people.

I think you're making a great move.

AlienQ you don't have to change your posting habits. Just don't talk to a client as a designer ever and complete projects on time how your manager and the client wants not how you feel it should be.

The problem here is someone is going to have to deal with you and your crazyness.. Who would want to take that on?

You should team up with Zuzanna.

It's true. I admit it.

To much of what I say on the boards is taken seriously. Half the time I am joking sometimes I am not. It just goes to prove just how fucking retarded all you people are.

Making business decisions over someones skills that can really help sell what ever it is they are pushing. I put alot on the table in experience for a business and in my opinion when I do something and the project is launched the project goes well. Its not just my design mind you but good design helps and I know I have skills in that department.

Very few of my tours fail and it is a fact my work increases ratio's despite what the dipshits say about me.

He's definitely lost business. I talk to damn near anyone and everyone that will talk to me. He's lost potential work from me. I have 5 clients now who all need design services. You think I will give him more work? I lobby for him when other designers were the choice of someone else involved in some of the projects I was a part of. Just the work he has lost from me could be thousands of dollars. Every job doesn't warrant Dickman's Design. There are lots of jobs that are Alien level. He can blast me all he wants and say how it doesn't matter. People have brains, they can decipher the codes for themselves. If Alien doesn't want to believe that his manic meltdowns don't affect his service based business I can't help him.

Let me break it down for you Martin. You're an intelligent guy and I enjoy your posts.

Here's the thing. Alien is in a category where there are tons and tons of qualified designers. If someone is a prick like p1mpdogg on the boards and can back up a deal I do with him off the boards, that is all good. I look past that. It has to do with the position you play and every position has so many players. There are only so many program owners, as an example. However, designers are coming out the wazoo.

The way I see it, if Alien doesn't like my views on something and wants to verbally assault me for them, then well, why would I give him work? So he can be in the middle of the job I hired him to do he can meltdown on me and cause issues mid project? It's easier for a project manager/business owner like me to go elsewhere and avoid the hassle. There's nothing Alien does that someone else can't do for me, so I will avoid the possibility of confrontation by default.

He doesn't give a shit. He will tell you. He's rich, he doesn't need my money, or my clients money when we do design jobs. He'll tell you. He has so much work that he doesn't need a few piddly thousand dollars.

I like him, but fuck all if this guy is gonna tell me to fuck myself when I can see the trends and the industry move and he can't. Piss on that.

Anyway, just wanted to clarify that for you. Keep on making sense, because you really do, I just wanted to tell you WHY this hurts Alien when he does bullshit like this.

I need someone to represent me here while I move onto Mainstream. I will take projects but its pretty fucking clear hardly anyone in this business even wants design these days without busting the price so fucking low its not even worth the time.

So maybe a rep can pan out quality clients that can afford quality design.
