my engine blew up driving down a highway once, it didnt make a mess like that and I just pulled over called tow truck to tow it the rest of the way lol.
I knew it was going to blow.. was just trying to get it to the shop to put a new engine in it.
I call bullshit on the pics. something would have to blow out of the engine to rip the hood apart.. and its ripped on the sides, front and back.. yet its still perfectly on the car.Comment

I just don't get how it can blow up while off. Are they sure there wasn't any foul play involved? Maybe some neighborhood kids fucking around with a couple cherry bombs?
It kind of reminds me of a story. Had a very wealthy Uncle-in-law who had bought a new jaguar maybe 20 years ago. The first week he had it the car completely broke down on the road. Smoke and everything, engine shot to shit. Next morning at 9am a guy shows up at his door with a brand new Jaguar and keys. Says he's sorry for any inconveniences but here is his new Jaguar with some upgrades along with some expensive wine. Here is the conversation that ensued.
Uncle: What ended up being the problem?
Guy: Problem sir?
Uncle: Yes, on the Jaguar that broke down.
Guy: Sorry sir, there must be a misunderstanding. Jaguards don't break down.
The guy then left. Creepy and cool. That's how luxury car customers were treated back in the day. I guarantee you that if this was 25 years ago, you'd have gotten a call from Mercedes within hours apologizing and fixing the problem.Comment

I wasn't there when it happened, I was inside best buy. I myself have no fucking clue what happened, but from what people said... it exploded. Not one person said otherwise. It's also Sunday, I don't expect anyone to have an answer for me as to "what" caused it.
The fire hoses cleaned off most of the car, so it looks like new still except the hood.Comment
