They passed the bill to push it back to June - didn't they?
If I have to watch those shit commercials and be annoyed by the freaking scroll bar shit during primetime shows. Then stick with the god damn deadline. Approx only 3% of people aren't ready. Fuck them.
I don't watch much TV so I don't have cable. I bought one on the boxes a couple of days ago and it is kind of sweet. I get about 5 more channels then I used to and they come in crystal clear. Pretty cool deal.
I canceled my cable and TiVo service when I move to this apartment. Mainly because I can only get Comcast and I fucking hate that company. Anyways, I use hulu.com just like I did TiVo. Subscribe to shows on various networks and watch them the next day on my 37" LCD HDTV (hooked up to the pc + audio). Works out amazingly and 'tis free.
Hi-res and let it buffer a bit. Doesn't skip and upscales perfectly.

Yes, that is wrong. Why not just do it legally? Any tv shows or seasons hulu doesn't have I get on Amazon media library usually for free also (pepsi points, coke rewards, etc) lol
Legal can be free too... But nothing tops hulu's setup and upscaling.

It scrolls on the bottom of most primetime shows on network tv. ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX at various intervals.
I must be in some weird market, because I just checked my tivo for all the network shows and didn't see it once....I fast forwarded through 10 of the while this thread has been open, and not a single scrolling banner
My parents recently bought a couple of those dtv boxes but they ran into a problem. American channels come in through the box however, the analog canadian channels do not.
you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..

can't get new release theatre films on hulu, and hulu RARELY updates their movies anyway
and it is $13 to go see a movie in the theatre where I am, and 99% of the time the movies are horrible these days, so this is my fuck you to the film industry
they have moved the deadline since 2006. Are you really surprised that they moved it this time too?
This issue is not dead yet either. I'm sure come june we'll be talking about it again.
The move back is optional. Many areas are going ahead and making the switch over on the original date. Charlotte, NC is one of the areas changing over on the original date.
