BLACKBERRY vs. TREO 700W feedback please

Right now I have the LG 9800 (verizon) and I love it! But it is not as internet capable as I would like it to be. I invisioned being able to check emails, message, and be more mobil with my work. But in reality I don't use the internet on the phone at all.

So I have been looking into getting the Treo 700W (windows OS) to replace it. I hear alot of people have BlackBerry and know nothing about them other than they DO NOT have photo of video taking capability. Sorry but I have a 4 year old and take tons of pics and vids of her with my phone because I always have it with me. So the thought of loosing that to go with a BlackBerry is not a good one.

Give me some feedback if you have a BlackBerry or the 700W please. Is the BlackBerry that much better from a business standpoint that I should sacrific the luxory of the camera???? If someone could tell me and show me that the BlackBerry (for business use) is by far the best then I would make that purchase and do without the camera. I just don't know that.

Also is the 700W just as good as the BlackBerry for mobile business?

Give me some feedback. I will be on for another hour maybe then off to bed. I will pick this thread up in the am.

I can surf , email , and do almost anything on the BB....

It doesnt use a Windows OS either....

Plus its smaller and fits in my left butt pocket.... I am rubbing my BB right now

You can ICQ, MSN , AIm and all that stuff...

SSH into servers and so on... they make alot of 3rd party software for it

I have the Treo 700w and I dig it. Some OS crashing once in a while but it's basically a good phone and great for email and surfing. Takes decent pics ... not great though.

I like the touch screen and the "windows OS navigation"

Takes some getting used to but it's a great productivity tool.

Reception-wise, i haven't dropped a call in over 2 months here in L.A. - as a matter of fact, I didn't drop a call in Florida either. Verizon provides the service, FYI.

I have 3 different email accounts and they all work fine.

So, IMHO - other than the random OS crashes ... it's a pretty damn good phone.

Ok that is legit.

But the 700 s available with palm OS also. But everything I am hearing is the the Treo has issues with Palm OS and does not with the Windows OS.

Verizon offers the same phone with better service - it's called the XV6700

My wife has it. Takes better pics than the 700w too. Has the slide out screen with the keypad underneath. It's a cool phone but I like the 700w better.

Verizon let's you have the phone for 14 days with a return policy no questions asked. Talk to the manager and see if that's the case in PHX.

I heard there was a way to teather it ... not sure.

I know you CAN with the BB

It's not something I need so i never fully checked into it. There are Treo 700w forums so i'm sure if there is a way you could find out!

I got the 7130e and am very happy with it. More like a traditional cell in size, but the keyboard takes a bit to get used to, however after a couple days its great as the smarttype has learned most of your habits and words etc.

I also find the phone is much better on it than other blackberry's I have seen and used.

Plus the 7130e is very good if you need to tether the phone to the laptop in a pinch.

Well Verizon has no info on anything called 700WX but I will be in the store today and ask them about it. Of course if there is a new model comming out tomorrow than I will get that one.

Just picked up the BB 7130e the other day, it kicks major ass! It's definitely addictive. Absolutely love the tethering feature and being able to check email or stats whereever the fuck I am is awesome. How did i live so long without this little baby.

YEs I know, Verizon offers the 700W and the 700P (palm OS) but they are telling me that the Windows OS has less issues than the palm OS.
