adult is a good place to start with zero knowledge. if you have some basic html skrillz, know what a search engine is, and know what makes you blow a hard load, you can get into adult, install wordpress and go hard. what i've learnt in the passed couple of years has definitely eased the transition. i think people who have been in adult for a long time and make the transition to mainstream will notice a much different attitude amongst their peers. it is far more business oriented, people protect their little trade secrets, and help is not always easy to come by.
now if you "suck" at adult, you're probably not going to come in guns blazing, but selling a digital product that is easily ripped off is not an easy game. if you can make sales in adult at all, you're off to a good start with mainstream. you just gotta learn to adjust the way you look at promoting your product. it is a challenging experience, but a rewarding one. much more rewarding than trying to slang overpriced memberships to shit that can be found free 10,000x over...
