Anyone here use meetup?

I just found a couple of hiking groups on meetup.com and some for "internet professionals".
I'm surprised I've never seen the site before ... pretty cool.
I was thinking about starting a meet up group for rollerskating.

Are you on meetup? And if so, have you ever actually met up with your interest groups?

no one had started a rollerskating group yet... there are only people who have listed it as an interest which is why I was thinking of starting one.
There are inline skating groups though.

I want to meet people who like doing the same things as I do and on a schedule.
My time is limited so it's not easy to narrow down a group of people who are serious about going hiking or doing yoga, rollerskating... whatever & it's nice to have a preset time & place where people RSVP & will actually show up. And I wouldn't go unless atleast 5 other people RSVP'ed

It can be hard to coordinate things with a lot of my friends, being that we are generally on different schedules.

Anyway, we'll see how it goes, I have a couple of hikes lined up in the next week with my group! I wonder what they would think if I showed up with a llama??

I am on meetup and part of few hiking groups in Phoenix. I mostly go to the 2 hour hike which is held every weekend and the hikes are easy to average and last 2 - 3 hours, but if you want something more challenging then do what I do which is on mid week I hike Piestewa Peak Summit Trail by myself which is a killer, burn about 2500 calori.
