You realize that most likely non of his comments were ever read by the spammer? 95% uses fake return addresses and proxies.

Good point but also keep in mind that a lot of spam is sent out to try to get you to respond so that they can verify that your email address exists. One you respond your in their system forever!

and also most "reply to unsubscribe" emails or click to unsubscribe is just to verify that it's a working address

I have a script that while you read the message it adds your email to a db including ip, country, city... u don't have to click anythig
