My SF 49'ers are BACK baby

They are looking good in the pre-season so far.

Alex Smith had a rough year in 2005, but he's off to a better start in '06. Smith passed for 137 yards and led the 49ers to a big early lead in their 28-14 exhibition victory over the Bears. Frank Gore rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown, while San Francisco's first-team defense shut down Chicago's offense under Grossman. The Niners forced two first-quarter turnovers that led to 10 points, including linebacker Jeff Ulbrich's 32-yard TD return of Grossman's fumble. "It was a ton of fun," said Smith.

Tonight's game against the Raiders should be good. I've waited about 5 years or more for the niners to pull their team out of the toilet, and this looks like it could be the year.

Yes they sucked for the past several years, blah blah blah.... quit living in the past you haters!

In the pools I never bet against the niners even when they were sucking. They will kill you in the spread :D

Yeah, wildcard would be nice. I'd like to see them get 10 wins this season.

49ers are going no where fast, this is pre season, they will be in the bottom 5 teams again, fucking horrid team, worse then their gay ass fans,

san fransisco is a dirty city with alot of gay people in it, are you gay? o ya you are a 49ers fan you are obviously gay.

I've been a 49er fan as long as I can remember, MetaMan. As a young kid I was a 49er fan.

They're the closest team to where we live. I believe in supporting the local team. People who live around here and root for, say, Dallas are annoying. That's like going to High School in one place but rooting for your biggest rivals in another town.

49ers have had a great history. No other team has won more Superbowls. 49er fans are awesome and loyal. This year we'll have a much better year than the last two, I'm sure.

Playoffs are possible.

No I don't "hate" them. The 49ers are wway down my list of team I hate. Just being realistic. I'm not saying they are going to suck or be good either way I'm just saying this is pre-season.

Yes, it is. And they are looking pretty good, which is a ray of light on an otherwise dismal last handful of years. Their roster is looking a lot tighter this year, as is the connection between the coaching staff and the players, things that were sorely lacking for a long time.

So if I want to be hopeful and positive, I'm going to be hopeful and positive. Come december if it turns out I was wrong then I'll own up to that.

But for now it's GO NINERS time. :D

I think a team of rodeo clowns could probably beat the Niners this year.

As someone else mentioned, this is pre-season. The 49ers kept Smith in a whole half against the Bears, meaning much of the time he was playing against 2nd and 3rd team players.

Not that I am expecting much from my Raiders this year either...

At least Al Davis tries to put a decent team on the field. With York running the show, the Niners have little chance to succeed. Eddie D. could make the team competitive again, but what are the chances of that? (Personally I would like to see it happen).
