Best way to get Directv HD signal to my PC?

Hello porn people. I have directv and have wanted to upgrade to the elliptical dish for quite some time now to get HD. The TV I watch most often is fucking up and since I intend to buy a bad ass TV to replace it I thought I should go ahead and upgrade the DTV at the same time. Well, now I'm thinking I would like to be able to capture the signal on my pc as well. I did it about 6 years ago but the file sizes were huge and the quality was very mediocre. Of course, that might have been because I used the out of the box settings on the capture card (yea, I didn't know what I was doing- that hasn't changed).

I have my Tivo paused now and this shot looks perfect. I want that kind of quality on my pc. I want to take a screen shot or a video if I want (btw could I play back stuff from the tivo and it still be HD if I buy the right receiver/PDR combo?). I want it to be fucking convenient after it is all setup. I'm willing to take plenty of pain upfront though.

DirecTV had been planning a Vista compatible tuner card but last I heard the development was suspended.

Kinda sucks cause it would have been a nice addition to the HTPC.

If you just want to watch it on your monitor and your monitor has an HDMI port why not just hook the DirecTv box to you monitor through that?
