What do you find scary? Amish people? Having grown up in that sort of area it is hard for me to think what would be scary about it?

That people are so strong believers in 'God' that everyone with a different opinion is 'wrong' and not accepted....

That you can't view TV for example...(funny thing is, Floyds mum could not watch it, since tv's are not allowed, so she watched in somewhere else lol)

In that area there are two main groups. The Amish and the mennonites. There are others too that fall into the Anabaptist branceh of Christians but those are the two main groups. My family actually belong to one of the 'others' that is a really small group the embraces the modern world. My 'blood' is largely Pennsylvania Dutch (which is really Pennsylvania German ..the Dutch comes from the German spelling of German) and pretty much everyone in those groups has some sort of PA Dutch connection.

The Amish are the more strict and they pretty much live in their own enclosed world that just slightly overlaps with the the 'real' world. They believe in living a simple life and that anything beyond that isn't needed and is a distraction from their worship. They generally don't use electrcity, use a horse and buggy instead of cars, dress in plain colors and don't use buttons or zippers in their clothing. They ocassionally adapt and use some technology (some farms have a telephone now, for example). I don't find them at all scary because I grew up around them. They are peaceful people who don't believe in violence (though they are human so it does happen). They have kept Lancaster beautiful by keeping that land breath takingly beautiful. I have never heard any slam other religions. They of course have their very strong beliefs but I find the Christian right much more scary.

That area also has Mennonites which is what, I belive, Landis's family belong to. Some Mennonites live *almost* like the Amish but they have more modern technology. When you go around in that area you can tell which farm is Amish and which is Mennonite by which one has power lines running into the farm.

However, most Mennonites live in regular society just like everyone else and you would only know their religion if you asked them. I know where I went to school it was just another religion and the kids dressed exactly like us and everything else.

Religion is important but I find them both to generally be nice people that make great food Which explains alot about me.

For those that didn't know...My mother did the same thing a few years back (not quite as graphic). It was the driving force of what made me motivated to start up a number of my businesses that are now very successful. Do you want to know what seemed to drive her over the edge from the evidence? She spilled some raw eggs on the floor...

Floyd may or may not have cheated. Its too early to REALLY know. I know they found it in his blood. But they found it in ONE day's sample and he was tested every other day and nothing was found.

Regardless of if he cheated...His father would have done this...his demons were a hell of a lot deeper than his son's tour de france. It was just a matter of if THIS was going to push him over the edge or his bills were going to push him over the edge, depression of being past his prime....you name it...something would have done it.

But if you want it pin it on Floyd...Seriously, I hope this happends to you because you parents find out you're in porn. Its probably a more likely scenario
