In grade six I lent this dude a pair of one of my favourite shoes at the time (Reebok pump ups hehe) for gym class because he didn't have his gym shoes. I left my car for 5 minutes to a polish dog and a bum smashed out the driver's side window and stole my camera bag. Fortunately my camera wasn't in it, but he still got away with a telephoto lens, a doubler, some filters, and other shit. Lost about a grand on that one... not to mention glass all over the fuckin' car. I woulda killed him if I would have caught him. But the kicker was, when I was trying to fill out the police report so I could do the insurance thing, the cop started lecturing me and asking me why I would leave something of that value in the car? I told him I knew it was stupid, but he kept pressing the point... with anger. So when I said, "look, I know it was stupid, but can we just please get the report done?" He went off on me! lol! I remember him yelling, "DON'T GET SURLY WITH ME!! DON'T GET SURLY WITH ME!!" I thought he was gonna kick my ass and put ME in cuffs! Someone stole my car once. A biz partner screwed me out of a few hundred grand, a life partner screwed me out of 2 houses, and I have had so many computers and personal items stolen over the years that I am a little more careful now.

i had to move suddenly back in 2000 and trusted a friend of mine to finish packing my house and put everything in storage for me
He ended up stealin everything he wanted from the house and leaving what he didn't want...which to me, even though he left it I considered it stolen....we didn't find out he did this til like a month later, so we had no time to act on it
he ended up stealing 1500 records of all genres, home stereo with $2000 speakers, $500 desk I had just bought, my entire baseball card collection worth about $3000....he left al kinds of antique and regular furniture, all my kitchen stuff (all clad, etc), and tons more shit

Some Estonian kids had the nerve to steal my bag on a beach in Parnu while my dad was asleep just a couple of inches away from it. It had about 500 euros, my phone, some used panties, a towel, snacks... and my passport. Of course I had several photocopies of my passport, but we soon found out they were in the bag too. DUH!!!
I went and made a police report but thought I was going to be stuck in that country for weeks... However, the next day we got a call from the police. An old lady had found my bag. The only things that were missing were naturally the money and the phone. Even got my passport back.
