    Man Throws Kittens Into Frying Pan With Hot Oil

    Should fry his balls ....

    Buffalo, NY (AHN) - A man visiting his friend's apartment decides to throw five kittens into a frying pan with hot oil.

    The six- to seven-week-old kittens suffered from slightly burned skin. They are expected to make a full recovery.

    The apartment's resident left the kitchen, where he was cooking pork chops, when the kittens were thrown in the pan.

    Charles Loubert Sr., an animal control officer, tells The Associated Press, "The (visitor) started taking his clothes off, took two kittens, put them in the frying pan with the hot oil and pork chops and began swishing them around."

    He says, "Then he threw one kitten on the floor and he took the other one and wiped it off on the wall. Then he put three more kittens into the frying pan."

    Police say the suspect will be charged on Tuesday with animal cruelty.

                                  Five kittens were scalded Saturday afternoon after they were placed in a frying pan filled with hot cooking oil inside a West Side apartment, authorities said Sunday.

                                  The kittens suffered slightly burned skin, which had turned red, and their orange and white fur became matted and covered with hot grease, according to animal control officers. The motive remains unclear, and charges are pending against the perpetrator.

                                  Sunday, the five kittens were recovering in the Buffalo Animal Shelter, where staff members had cleaned them up, fed them and treated their wounds. Their mother, who was not injured, was also taken to the shelter.

                                  The kittens - about 6 to 7 weeks old - are expected to make a full recovery and could be placed for adoption in two to three weeks.

                                  "It's just disgusting - just horrible," said Charles Loubert Sr., an animal control officer.

                                  "This is probably one of the worst cases of animal cruelty I've seen in my 26 years on the job. . . . It's very sad, because there is no reason to do this to a helpless kitten. If this man could do this to a kitten, he could do this to a person. He is a very sick man."

                                  Loubert said the man who attacked the kittens will be charged with animal cruelty today. His identity has not been released.

                                  The incident occurred in an apartment in the 1100 block of West Avenue, where another man lives with the five kittens and mother cat.

                                  At about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, the resident of the address was cooking for the unnamed suspect, an acquaintance he invited to his home after encountering him at a bus stop, authorities said.

                                  "He was cooking a couple of pork chops and went into another room," Loubert said. "The [visitor] started taking his clothes off, took two kittens, put them in the frying pan with the hot oil and pork chops and began swishing them around. Then he threw one kitten on the floor, and he took the other one and wiped it off on the wall. Then he put three more kittens into the frying pan."

                                  Loubert and Northwest District police officers responded to the scene. The visitor was taken to Erie County Medical for treatment. "They were just soaked with grease," Loubert said. "When you picked them up, you could smell the grease, and they were dripping in it. The grease was even melting onto my white gloves."

                                  The kittens were taken to the shelter, where a veterinarian and technician washed them with soap and dried them.

                                  "I checked on them, and they're doing well," said Loubert, who visited them Sunday. "These kittens went through a huge ordeal."
